Cloak crafted from Moose hide. Heavy, but offers significant protection from unfriendly wildlife, and is highly waterproof. A rare trophy."
In-game description

The Moose-hide cloak is a type of clothing in The Long Dark.

Overview Edit

The cloak is a heavy outer layer that provides high physical protection and maximum waterproofness.

The Moose-hide cloak like all other animal hide items in the game, requires to be made at a workbench. It requires a moose hide, and 4 guts, as well as a sewing kit or fishing tackle to craft. Note that a fishing tackle or sewing kit may break when making clothing items, and that the fishing tackle gives a time penalty when crafting this item.

Repairing the moose-hide cloak is not worth it. As it takes 1 cured moose hide (which is the same as it costs), to be repaired for only 60%. Harvesting the cloak yields back the moose hide you used to make it with. Therefore harvesting and just recrafting it at an workbench is a more efficent use of your moose hide(s) , which are very rare and take 10 days to cure
